How does my child qualify for the No Child Without^® program?

The No Child Without^® program is for children age 4 up to their 14^th birthday. The child must be attending a publicly funded school that is participating in the program.

How is the No Child Without^® program offered?

The No Child Without^® program is only offered to publicly funded schools through their school districts at this time. Once the school district expresses an interest in the program, they are asked to select a specified number of schools to participate the first year with additional schools added in each subsequent year, based on available funding. The program is being expanded as equitably as possible across Canada based on the number of schools in each province, the interest of school districts and available funding.

What is the cost to participate in the No Child Without^® program?

The No Child Without^® program is offered at no cost to children in participating schools because of the funding by the Canadian MedicAlert Foundation with the assistance of the Government of Canada and Lions Clubs across Canada.

How does my child participate in the No Child Without^® program?

A No Child Without^® brochure must be obtained from the school. After obtaining the brochure you can enroll your child by following the directions on the back of the brochure.

How does my school get enrolled in the No Child Without^® program?

The school district must be participating in the program. If the school district is participating have the principal contact the school district to have the school’s name placed on the list of interested schools or contact the Manager, School Programs with MedicAlert to learn about the next steps.

If your school district is not participating contact your school principal or school district to make them aware of the program and refer them to this website or the Manager, School Programs to learn more about involving their schools.

What happens when my child goes to another school not covered by MedicAlert?

The No Child Without^® program follows each child up to their 14^th birthday no matter where they should move to in Canada. It is the parent’s responsibility to contact MedicAlert and update their child’s file with the change in information.

What happens when my child turns 14?

You will receive a letter from MedicAlert offering a continuance of the MedicAlert membership for an annual fee up to their 18^th birthday. The annual fee is offered at a 40% discount until your child’s 18th birthday. Other MedicAlert options are available once your child turns 18.

My child just had their 14^th birthday. Does he/she qualify for the No Child Without^® program?

The No Child Without^® program is only offered to children age 4 up to their 14^th birthday. The StudentsFIRST program is offered to students up to their 18^th birthday. Visit www.medicalert.ca/studentsfirst to learn more about the program.

What do I do if my child’s MedicAlert identification is lost or stolen?

Your child will receive one free MedicAlert identifier when they register in the program. A replacement is available for the regular cost. Contact MedicAlert and speak to a customer service representative for assistance.

How do I request a second bracelet when registering my child?

A second bracelet can be purchased at the regular cost. Please contact a Customer Service Representative to order a second bracelet.

I have two children who will be participating in the program. How many No Child Without^® brochures do I require?

You will require two, one for each child.

My child attends a private/independent school. Can the school participate in the No Child Without^® program?

No Child Without^® is currently only being offered to publically funded schools. The Canadian MedicAlert Foundation is a national charity and is only able to offer the program to the 12,000 publically funded schools. Once all publically funded schools have been offered No Child Without^® over the next 5 years, it will be offered to private and independent schools, and home schooled children, based on available funding.

Can I choose a different product other than those listed in the No Child Without^® brochure?

You can choose any MedicAlert product. You will have to pay the regular cost for the MedicAlert ident.

My child has lost their bracelet and I cannot afford the cost of a new one. What can I do?

Contact MedicAlert and speak to a Customer Service Representative to discuss other options.
